Sky Food

Pathways was busy cooking last week
while learning about things in the sky!
Space and the planets were the topic
as we built fruit rockets.

A blue Jello "sky" was topped with white Cool Whip
"clouds" to make a sky in a cup.

Each child took a turn dumping ingredients,

mixing,

stirring food coloring,

and layering colors in their own cup to make...

Rainbow Pudding!!
(They were surprised it only tasted like vanilla when it
had all those beautiful colors of the rainbow)

On our second Pajama Day, we made popcorn.

We talked about different ways that
popcorn can be made.

Several flavors were added for everyone to try.

The kids cut out and colored their own pajamas.

Earlier in the week we started talking
about Valentine's Day and cut out hearts.

Paint and marbles were used to
 make a beautiful design.

Another day we used markers and water on coffee filters
to make tie-dye hearts.

Room 6 off to the gym!

Preschool Visitors

This week was full of visitors!
The Pre-K classes had fun learning
about dance from Miss Stephanie
from On Your Toes Dance Studio.
The first year preschoolers
were visited by Nurse Ali who
taught them ways to keep their

Winter White

Pathways worked with the
color White last week!
White marshmallows were used with white paint...

to make a white polar bear!

Who lives in a white land.

Wednesday we contrasted black paint on
white paper to make penguins.

We talked about different kinds of birds.

Do penguins fly? Where do they live?

Thursday and Friday were officially White Day!

White snow was painted for a beautiful winter scene.

Trees were made using tissue paper for the top and
construction paper for the trunk.

Friday we experimented with water colors.

We painted over a stencil to leave a white snowflake.
A name or initial also appeared after writing
it with a white crayon.

Salt was added to the wet paint to create a snowy effect.

Room 2 play time.
