Barnyard Animals

Room 4 kids used their imaginations
last week to visit the farm!
Moooo! What sound does a cow make?

We made some cute cows and talked about
how they give us milk and hamburger.

"H" is for Horse!

We added yarn tails and manes.

We talked about where horses live,
what they like to eat, and the different
 kinds, like Clydesdales!

Summer Food Fun

We had fun with our food this week!
We mixed blue food coloring with cream
cheese to make an "ocean".  We talked
about ocean animals and vacations.

Step two of our ocean snack was to spread
the cream cheese mixture on a rice cake.

Goldfish and a shark were added for the
final yummy product.  We also
read a book about dolphins.

Rooms 2 & 4 had fun making Snow Cones.

Room 2 kids made a popsicle craft.

With all the bbqs and family gatherings happening,
we decided to make "hamburgers"!

We mixed frosting and food coloring to make our
lettuce, ketchup and mustard.

Cookies were used for the meat and the bun.

Sesame seeds were added for authenticity!

The snacks were delicious and the kids
had a great time making them.

We talked about where we eat and cook hamburgers

Water, Water Everywhere

The rainy weather didn't dampen
our spirits! Even though our outdoor fun
has been delayed, we still had had lots
of fun exploring water in other ways.
We did water play in Room 4.

We painted with watercolors.

We read a book about water.

The kids got their feet painted
to make footprint flip flops.

More water at the washing station!

Pencil erasers were used to paint the dot edging.
Ribbons and pom poms were the final touch.

We are ready for the Beach!

Fun times with friends.

Room 2 had a water-related craft, too.

They made a colorful fish and read "One Fish, Two Fish"

4th of July

Hope everyone had a Happy 4th!
Here's how the kids got
ready for the big day:
We made mirror-imprint paint pictures
which turned into fun fireworks displays.

Our "Fireworks in the Sky" art.

Fireworks rings were fashioned out of pipe cleaners.

"Fireworks in a bottle" was our next project.

Glitter, ribbons and pipe cleaners were put
into a water bottle.

Hand print flags were also made.

We talked about what the flag represents and
why we celebrate this holiday.

We said the Pledge of Allegiance
and discussed what it means.

What is the 4th of July without Bomb Pops?

Happy Birthday, America!

Room 2 had Bomb Pops, too.

They did marble painting to make fireworks pictures.

Room 6 in their patriotic colors.

Checking out the new toys.
