Ripe for the Pickin'

Room 4 had some fruity fun last week!
We used scissors to cut out a strawberry.

Then we used our thumbs to
make the seeds.

Glue was used to add the stem.

Mrs. Huffman helped us
make whipped cream.

Strawberries and cream for snack!

What other fruits are red?
On Thursday we made whatever fruit we wanted.

We named our favorite fruits.

We talked about healthy eating.

Free play in the Bean Table.

I Scream, You Scream

Room 4 made some great ice cream
crafts last week and also gifts for our Dads.
Shaving cream, glue and food coloring were
used to make our "ice cream".

Some kids made triple cones!

Real  ice cream cones were
 used for extra texture.

We made another type of ice cream
cone with tissue paper.

Glue was used to add sprinkles.

We all scream for ice cream!

For snack we made strawberry ice cream.

Everyone took a turn to stir.

We love ice cream!

Room 2 kids having a tea party...

and playing with the toys.

Thursday Room 4 painted rocks to make a gift for Dad.

Special designs turned the rock into a paperweight.

Our Dads "rock"!

Happy Father's Day!

Our Great Big World

Room 4 has been learning
about the world around us.
We took advantage of the sun last week and
had fun playing with our shadows.

We talked about the weather.

We put objects on black paper to see what
would happen when it was left outside.

We painted turtles, snakes and lizards.

We talked about where reptiles live.
Thursday we discussed flowers and
what they need to live.

The kids added rocks, dirt, seeds and water to a planter.

We will watch our flowers grow at home.

Snack time outside!

After playing with the parachute we had fun with
bubbles and ran races in the shade.

Sunny Days

Summer Camp is in session
here at Resurrection!
Even though we didn't have
the brightest days last week,
we still celebrated the sun.
We love the summer!

In Room 4 we talked about how the sun warms us,
gives us light, and helps plants grow.

The kids used paint, glitter, scissors,
and markers to make their own suns.

They also used glue and streamers -
whatever they wanted!

Sun hats were also made later in the day.

Thursday we used finger paints to continue
our sunshine theme week.

They made covers for books.  On the inside we wrote
about what we love about warm, bright days.

At snack time we even made sunny treats!

We used cheese, pretzels, and raisins
to make a smiling sun.

Room 6 had a fun snack time, too!

They also had a good time in the gym.
