In the Kitchen with Pathways

We spent time baking in

Pathways Room 4 and 

learning about food!

Cheese, bread, licorice and raisins
were used to make robots. 

We talked about the shapes that make the robot.

We also made a paper robot craft and
practiced our cutting skills. 

Tuesday we made apples faces and discussed emotions.

We also used the apples to paint pictures.

Wednesday we made yummy chocolate chip cookies! 

Everyone got a turn to stir.

Thursday we made sugar cookies.

We turned these into stoplights by using icing and colored
sugar. This tied into their preschool lesson from the
morning: they had painted stoplights that day.

Friday we talked about apples.  What colors can they be?
Are they different sizes? Flavors? Where do they grow?

Each child got several turns using the peeler/corer.
The loved eating the apple slices.

We made warm cinnamon apples and
served it with vanilla ice cream.

On Fire with Preschool

We started our "Handwriting Without Tears"

writing program with the letters Aa & Bb

and the numbers 1-3.

We also had an informative visit from

the Mehlville Fire Department.

Working on our journals.

Learning our letters and numbers.

 A is for Apple.

Talking about fire safety and what the kids need to know.

Explaining the uniform and that the firemen
are not scary - the kids should call out to them
in an emergency situation.

Pointing out what is on the truck and telling the kids
the firemen also help with the ambulance and police.

Brushing Up

We did a lot of painting in Room 4

Pathways this past week.

The kids always enjoy painting at the easel.

Different sizes of brushes were used.

We worked on shapes.

Blue Day! We had a box of items to stamp with.

The kids named things that are Blue. 

Friday we talked about and painted Humpty Dumpty.

We also worked with creating
different shades of blue.

We had fun writing our names by using
silver markers on black paper.

Everybody loves Play-Doh!

We used the K'nex to create
some crazy creatures.

Welcome Back - Preschool

Hello and a BIG Welcome to all!

Our rooms are full of Fall excitement.

We have so many fun plans to put into

action for September. It's just so good

to see all the bright faces ready to explore

information about everything from
