Cooking for Thanksgiving

We have been cooking for Thanksgiving in 

Pathways and talking about the holiday.

On Monday we talked about traveling,
visiting relatives and where everyone goes
for the holiday. We made cars out of Twinkies.

On Tuesday we discussed corn and the
first Thanksgiving. What can be made
with corn? Where does it grow?

Everyone saw what happens when the kernels heat up.

On Wednesday we made muffins.  We talked
about spices - Where do they come from?

The kids got to help mix and stir.

Pie was the topic for Thursday.  We
used our thumbs to decorate the crusts.

Then the children put on the melted butter and cinnamon sugar.

On Friday we made a pinecone turkey.

We also made pumpkin cupcakes

and owl cupcakes.

Show-n-Tell

The students had a lot of fun showing off their 

"treasures" from home at Show-n-Tell this week.

Turkey Time

Pathways Room 4 has been painting this week and 

learning about turkeys and other seasonal things!

 The kids traced their hands to make 

turkeys and painted a fall scene

Brown Day

There is a color we all know.

We talked about things that are brown,

made suncatcher turkeys,

leaf turkeys, and Fall leaves.

I like brown, don't you?

Animals Abound

We have been busy in Pathways! 

The end of last week we concentrated on animals.

On Thursday we made bears in Room 4

We talked about where they live, what colors
they can be, what they eat, and how they sleep.

On Friday we worked with sand

We learned where it comes from and how it feels

We used leaves as "starfish" in our beach scene
and talked about what animals live in the ocean
